Fairfax County installed the "no parking" signs in the RPPD area and have started policing the area. This program is designed to protect our streets from commuter parking but appears to have developed some initial concerns about how to attain parking decals for residents' vehicles.
If you are in the affected area, you should have got a letter in the mail from Fairfax County. They sent them to all of the homes affected by the new parking restrictions. When you get the letter, it has directions for how to apply for the permits online. Permits arrive in the mail about a week later. Although the RPPD FAQ states that you don't need a permit to park in the driveway, it's probably safer to apply and get the resident and visitor permits.
